Respite Day Program

Anchor Place warmly welcomes older adults living with mild-to moderate memory issues and other cognitive challenges (such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, stroke or other dementias) to our community space.

Participants enjoy a range of stimulating activities, including music, art, cognitive stimulation, games, service projects, gentle movement, a shared meal, prayer, conversation and lots of laughter.

Caring and enthusiastic volunteers, led by trained professional staff, seek to get to know each participant’s stories, not their symptoms.

Anchor Place will open 10am-2pm, two days per week (Monday & Thursday) for a rate of $55/day. Participants may choose to come one or more days. Lunch and light refreshments are included.

Participants must be able to:

● Feed and toilet themselves

● Ambulate independently (with or without an assistive device)

● Interact in a comfortably in a group setting

Caregiver Support

While their loved ones are engaged in our Respite Day Program, care partners get a much needed break from the demands of caregiving. Care partners have regular time to see friends, run errands, exercise, or just have some quiet, relaxing time to themselves.

We plan to offer a Caregiver Support group soon in addition to providing resources to navigate the many needs a diagnosis of memory loss or other cognitive impairment can bring with it.
